introduction
When we think of a neighborhood what comes to mind is the demographics of its people. Let’s, for a moment, assign some sentience to the support systems, a neighborhood's buildings and gardens. What do we see when there are no people present? We can still see tales of a neighborhood in the way its buildings stand and the wear they show gathered in the line of duty.

honor the house
house creaks
sentient messages
of its beginning
protection
from the elements
the roof endures
warm by the fire
do we forget to thank
the house
